A jewel of a country pub in Dartmoor National Park

Set in the heart of the picturesque Dartmoor National Park, with spectacular views over Hameldown, this historic 14th century pub exudes character and charm. Built by masons whilst they worked on the impressive village Church of St Pancras (known as the Cathedral of the Moors), the original pub was used as a resting place for workers to eat and sleep.

Today, the pub boasts roaring log fires, stone walls, wooden beams and notably the old stable, which remains fully intact and part of its attractive, rustic dining area. With a 300-seat landscaped garden and a comfortable conservatory for alfresco dining and delicious food, this ‘jewel in the moors’ is a must-visit no matter the time of year.
